Posta Rangers Football Club, whose slogan is “Touching Lives”, was formed during a split between the now-defunct Kenya Post and Telecommunications Corporation (KP&TC). The team branded as Posta Rangers Football Club and is duly registered with the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs.
The Postal Corporation of Kenya formed sporting teams specifically for the purpose of competing in the annual Kenya Communication Sporting Organization (KECOSO) Games. Due to football’s positive impact around the globe, Posta Kenya’s management embraced the team and thus incorporated it as a Corporate Social Responsibility program, as well as working with the team as a marketing and publicity ambassador for the corporation to enhance the corporate image and visibility.
Between 2006 and 2010, Posta Kenya sponsored Posta Rangers FC while it participated in the Kenya Football Federation Nationwide League. This sponsorship assisted with the development of the team in advance of their promotion to the top tier league in December 2015. Postal Corporation of Kenya was the sole sponsor of the team until Lotto Foundation joined as a co-sponsor in January 2017.
The Foundation gave a grant of Ksh 15,000,000 to supplement Postal Corporation of Kenya’s sponsorship in key areas such as match bonuses, training allowances, and per diem allowances for accommodation for away matches.
